Don't forget our military. They're still on the job!!!

Ben Chandler SAYS he has
"fully supported our military and troops"...

Really? Let the Record Show...

"We're only five percent of the world's population,
and we've gone out and -- I'll avoid using a saltier word -- upset
the other 95 percent. How does that make us safer?"

...Ben Chandler, quoted in 2006, criticizing George Bush's national security policy and the Iraq War.

"In my judgement, this war is beyond the scope of our men and women in uniform."
(Ben's Feb. 2007 speech in congress against sending weary US troops in Iraq much needed reinforcements.)

There you have it...Chandler's assessment of the Iraq War in a nutshell.

We are the ones who have "gone out and upset" the world...?
Attacks on the US for over 30 years

These acts of terrorism against The United States span more than 30 years.
According to Ben, the reason is simple...we're jerks!
Our crimes?
Feeding the world... Acting as Peacekeepers...
Responding to worldwide disasters with American compassion.

Ben SAYS he fully supports the troops...

Ben Chandler "supports" the troops
You decide if he offers the support
Americans in uniform deserve:

Ben has a habit of voting for
military appropriations bloated with pork.
Ben votes to fund the military if
there is something in it for himself,
his donors, or his colleagues.

The war in Iraq serves a
useful purpose for Ben.
It gives him a chance to polish his halo of
"fiscal responsibility"...
Ben calls the price tag for being in Iraq
"shocking"; "20% absolutely wasted."

Yet Ben spent more than the
entire cost of the Iraq war to date
with one hurried vote - The Stimulus Bill:
100% absolutely wasted...
No questions asked;
didn't even bother to read it.
Pure pork...

It is legitimate to ask just how much Ben's
appetite for pork projects affects his
foreign policy decisions,
and therefore our national security.

For Example:
Ben said if he "got some of that money back from Iraq, it would be great money to [spend on alternative energy.]"
(Cap and Trade...tons of government control and payback opportunities for congressmen.)

Barney Frank thinks the same way: "We could bring down the military budget... That would pay for health care."
(Unprecedented congressional control of the life of EVERY American...Big payola bucks for congressmen.)

Ben and Barney are bent on spending to remove liberty from the American people.
They are not willing to put our dollars into defending the United States from outside forces.
Given the choice between the personally enriching power of pork and a well-supported military,
it's back to the pig farm every time!

Ben went to Iraq in August 2008.
He saw what has been accomplished by American and Allied forces.
He saw what a brutal Iraqi summer is like for our troops deployed there.
Yet, Ben came home talking money, money, waste, and expense.

Does Ben see our military men and women as our defenders, our heroes,
wholly deserving our respect and appreciation?
Or does Ben see them as economic liabilities...

May 27, 2010... Late Night in Nancy's House:
Ben votes to allow homosexual behavior to be practiced openly in the military!

In 2006, Ben backed a constitutional ban on gay marriage,
even though he saw no need for it.
He said his constituents demanded it.
Herald-Leader Nov. 5, 2006

But now, "Independent" Ben thumbs his nose at us;
at our kids in the military.
Military living quarters are crowded, lacking privacy.
The combat situation in Afghanistan is intense;

living conditions close and crude.
Add openly homosexual behavior to these realities.

What happens to your child if he/she is the object of a same sex attraction?
Ask Ben...he's the one who arranged it.

Click here for 10 reasons why this bill is a bad idea.

It was just last year that Ben voted twice for
Hate Crimes legislation protecting
virtually any sexual behavior.
Hello "Thought Police!"

Especially concerned are parents
trying to protect their children:
Kiddies, let Uncle Ben introduce you to
Kevin Jennings, Safe School Czar.

The Hate Crimes Bill was passed by attaching it to Military Appropriations...
a foreshadowing of Thursday's vote.
Barney Frank had declared repeal
of DADT would be the next step.

Ben made Barney's dreams come true...

Ben's definition of "full support" of the military?
Load up their funding bills with
legislation too odious to pass on its own...

FIGHT BACK!!!
This has not yet passed the Senate.

As a Military Mom, I appreciate it!

The True Face of Support!!!

The Freeport Flag Ladies stand at the corner of Main and School Streets in Freeport, Maine
every Tuesday morning with flags waving in honor of our troops!
Many of our troops fly through Bangor or Pease airports on their way
to and from the Middle East.

The Pease Greeters welcome military coming through Pease International.
These good people treat our troops like royalty!!!
This is the warm welcome awaiting our military as they enter the airport.
Among those meeting the planes are veterans ready to share their cell phones for troop calls home.
The Flag Ladies photograph as many military members as possible
and post pictures on their website,
so families can see what it is like for their loved ones as they journey.
These folks meet planes at all hours, day or night!
Lovely, generous people!!!

This is what "Supporting the Troops" means!!!

Want to send your support to a Soldier in harm's way,
but have no idea of what to send, who to send it to, or how to send it?

There are many worthwhile organizations providing vehicles of support.
A favorite of mine is www.anysoldier.com.
The website is divided according to branch of service and country of deployment.
A representative of a unit submits their name and a short bio of their unit, along with any special needs.
You can read them, and choose one to send something to. The instructions for doing this are on the website.
This household has shipped out everything from golf clubs to dog chewies!
It's a great way to help boost morale at a time when it is so badly needed!!!
Hop on over there and take a look! You'll be glad you did!!!!

Education, Education, Education!!!!
It's not a dirty word, you know!
A little knowledge is a good defense against empty political rhetoric.

Some great books!!!
These are available in audiobook format at Audible.com as well as standard book form.

They are informative and entertaining.
(A plug for audiobooks...I'm addicted! It's often hard to dedicate time to sitting and reading.

No True Glory: A Frontline Account of the Frontline Battle for Fallujah by Bing West
Fallujah: Iraq's most dangerous city unexpectedly emerged as the major battleground of the Iraqi insurgency.
For 20 months, one American battalion after another tried to quell the violence, culminating in a bloody, full-scale assault.
Victory came at a terrible price: 151 Americans and thousands of Iraqis were left dead.
The epic battle for Fallujah revealed the startling connections between policy and combat that are a part of the new reality of war.
The Marines had planned to slip into Fallujah "as soft as fog".
But after four American contractors were brutally murdered, President Bush ordered an attack on the city, against the advice of the Marines.
The assault sparked a political firestorm, and the Marines were forced to withdraw amid controversy and confusion, only to be ordered a second time to take a city that had become an inferno of hate and the lair of the archterrorist al-Zarqawi.
Based on months spent with the battalions in Fallujah and hundreds of interviews at every level (senior policymakers, negotiators, generals, and soldiers and Marines on the front lines) No True Glory is a testament to the bravery of the American soldier and a cautionary tale about the complex, and often costly, interconnected roles of policy, politics, and battle in the twenty-first century.

Raid on the Sun: Inside Israel's Secret Campaign that Denied Saddam the Bomb

From his earliest days as dictator, Sadaam Hussein had vowed to destroy Israel.
In 1975, France sold Sadaam 2 nuclear reactors. By 1981, he was close to having a nuclear bomb.

An oft-forgotten yet thrilling piece of history, expertly told.

This is a sweeping narrative of the path to 9/11, beginning in the 1940's.

It is easy to follow, weaving many threads of history into a cohesive tale of fanaticism and terror.
